WEBSTER GROVES / SHREWSBURY
History
Until 1802 Webster Groves was known as the Dry ridge by Osage, Missouri and Dakota natives.
In 1892 the developers of Webster Park, an early housing subdivision, promoted the new community as the "Queen of the Suburbs", offering residents superb housing options in a country-like atmosphere.
In the 1940's Shrewsbury Garden Club was formed to maintain the beautiful trees and flowers throughout the city.
