History

Missouri Botanical Garden  was inspired by Shaw's visit Royal Botanic Garden at Kew in England

 St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church had played an important role in the neighborhood since the late 1800s, operating a parochial school that served the Shaw neighborhood
